25 Nursing Students Graduate From DRMC Program

May 28, 2008 - Danville Regional Medical Center’s School of Health Professions Nursing Program will graduate 25 students May 30 at George Washington High School’s Auditorium.

“This class has compassion unsurpassed by any other class as a whole,” said Kamela Deel, Director of the Nursing Program.  “They work as a team and have put forth the effort and determination to succeed.”

Eighteen of the graduating students have been hired by DRMC with the remaining graduates moving to North Carolina, Boston and Germany.

DRMC’s Nursing Program is one of the oldest in the state of Virginia and is unique in that it is owned and operated by the hospital.  Students benefit from classroom and clinical settings for real-life experiences.

“We are proud to see these dedicated students reach this high academic achievement,” commented Jerel Humphrey, DRMC CEO.  “This group of students has worked diligently to excel at their studies and graduate from this program.

“We at DRMC are very fortunate to have such a talented group of professionals continuing their relationship with us to provide great care to their neighbors in the Dan River community.”
